Hand & Wrist
Many of the routine activities of daily living, recreation, and sports require versatile functions that only the upper extremity has. Such simple tasks as eating, personal hygiene, turning a key, opening a door, signing a check, hammering a nail, throwing a ball, or steering a bicycle are nearly impossible to perform without a functional elbow, wrist, and hand. Because so much of what a person does requires the use of the upper extremity, over time the effects of daily wear and tear, repetitive use, and trauma take a toll. Our surgeons are fully trained to diagnose, treat, and surgically repair conditions due to repetitive use or acute trauma such as:
- Arthritis
- Tendon ruptures and tendinitis
- Nerve compression syndromes (numbness, tingling, or weakness)
- Fractures
- Athletic, motor vehicle, or work injuries
