Elbow
The elbow is a complex joint that is frequently injured but commonly misunderstood by many physicians. As the connection between your shoulder and hand, it is instrumental in your interactions with the daily world. The forces and strains that occur around this joint with physical and athletic activities can cause pain or damage to the bones and ligaments. This can make routine activities such as writing, typing or driving difficult. The elbow is made up of the connection between three bones (the humerus, radius and ulna) and the ligaments and tendons that surround these bones and provide stability.
Our physicians have expertise in treating injuries of the elbow that are the result of repetitive injuries such as tennis elbow, tendonitis and bursitis as well as traumatic injuries such as fractures and ligament tears. Some of the procedures we perform include:
- Elbow Arthroscopy
- Biceps Tendon Repair
- Arthroscopic Treatment of Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)
- Treatment of Arthritis
- Treatment of Nerve Injuries/Compression
- Ligament Reconstruction (Including Tommy John Surgery)
